Ærø Hotel is looking for an experienced, skilled and reliable Chef to join our international kitchen team.

We are located on the beautiful Danish island of Ærø, in the maritime town of Marstal. We are looking for an experienced chef who enjoys working in a structured professional kitchen, preparing good-quality food for a large number of hotel guests.

We have 1 position available.

About the position

You will become part of our evening kitchen team, which consists of five chefs working closely together.

Ærø Hotel does not operate an à la carte restaurant.

Our kitchen is based on planned production and pre-arranged menus for our hotel guests. We serve between approximately 100 and 200 guests every day.

During the day, we prepare and serve lunches, while dinner consists of pre-booked and predetermined two-course menus.

Our dinner concept follows a fixed rotation of four different two-course menus. After the fourth menu, the rotation starts again on day five.

This means that our kitchen operation is highly structured, allowing the team to focus on good preparation, consistency, quality and efficient service.

We are therefore looking for an experienced chef who is comfortable preparing food in larger quantities and who understands the importance of planning, organisation and consistency when serving many guests.

The primary working language in our kitchen is Spanish, while English is the common language throughout the rest of the hotel.

  • Planning and organising preparation efficiently

  • Contributing to a smooth and well-organised dinner service

  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

  • Following Danish food safety and hygiene regulations

  • Supporting your colleagues and contributing to a professional and positive working environment

We are looking for someone who

  • Has solid professional experience working as a chef

  • Is experienced in preparing food for larger groups of guests

  • Is comfortable with high-volume food production

  • Is able to work independently and take responsibility

  • Understands the importance of planning, preparation and consistency

  • Works efficiently and remains organised during busy periods

  • Speaks Spanish and is able to communicate in English

  • Is reliable, responsible and flexible

  • Takes pride in food quality and presentation

  • Enjoys working as part of a professional kitchen team
